In cruise mode
Dibella attended two trade fairs in November! In addition to Equip'Hotel, we were also at the Cruise Ship Interiors Expo in London for the first time to show our comprehensive textile range.
The Cruise Ship Interiors Expo (CSI) is THE trade fair for the cruise industry. Once a year, maritime outfitters, interior designers, cruise companies and related businesses come together to learn about the innovations and trends in interior design. Bed linen, table linen and towelling also play a small but essential role.
We have therefore decided to fly the flag at CSI for the first time this year. On an 18m² stand (no. 414) we presented our tailor-made and sustainable textile solutions, which are becoming increasingly important on board international cruise lines. For our export sales manager Frank Neumann, the fair proved to be the right decision: "Next year we will be there again. The discussions with our visitors were productive, the fair excellently organised and climate-neutral to reach: We were able to walk from the airport and to our hotel."
In the meantime, we have compensated the carbon dioxide emissions for the flight and planted more trees in our Dibella forest.
The wind has changed
Equip'Hotel is an indispensable fair for us, because textiles are very important in the French hotel industry. For us, it is particularly pleasing that the industry now recognises the need for sustainable textiles.
France is one of our important sales markets, because textiles are an indispensable accessory in the hotel industry and in restaurants. Therefore, participation in the Equip'Hotel trade fair, which takes place every two years in Paris, is a must for us - especially since the event attracts well over 90,000 trade visitors from the entire gastronomic sector. We were there again this autumn to present our high-quality hotel bed linen and towelling to the visitors from 6 to 10 November.
This year, however, there was also a premiere at our stand. For the first time, sustainability played a central role in France. On the walls of our stand, we informed our guests about the internationally recognised sustainability certificates with which we have been awarded: GOTS, Fairtrade, Cotton made in Africa and Made in Green. In addition, we used a part of our stand to inform about our recycling and upcycling projects - first and foremost the cooperation model "CIBUTEX".
While interest in responsibly produced textiles has been rather restrained in France so far, the wind has changed in the meantime. The demand for hotel textiles produced in an environmentally friendly and socially responsible way has increased. A pleasing trend, we think!
