Corporate responsibility

We act sustainably –
throughout the entire value chain

At Dibella, we take an integrated approach and regard this as our personal definition of sustainability. This shapes and characterises our daily conduct.

Human toxicology – We guarantee human toxicological safety.

Design – We develop products that are as durable as possible and make the best possible use of materials to avoid production waste.

Material – We aim to increase the proportion of sustainable cotton according to defined criteria:

  • Hand-picked
  • Irrigation with rainwater
  • GMO-free Pesticide-free
  • Sourcing from “social business”
  • and elimination of conventional polyester in the long term.

Quality and shape retention – We offer durable products and are constantly optimising their quality.

Easy care – We support our customers with the care of our textiles by providing washing and care instructions created in collaboration with our quality management. This saves resources, minimises the environmental impact and makes the textiles last longer.

Designed for the circular economy – We strive to develop recyclable items.

(Price) value – We communicate the value of our products through an appropriate price.

Packaging – We avoid unnecessary packaging and substitute packaging material with recycled materials or materials of more sustainable origin.

Logistics – We use environmentally optimised transport routes and vehicles. To minimise our CO2 footprint, air freight is therefore categorically ruled out.

Supply Chain Management – We provide transparency by disclosing the supply chain. We have a well-organised supplier portfolio defined by long-term relationships. In addition, we only work with suppliers who meet our sustainability standards. We contribute to our suppliers’ expertise through training programmes. We are constantly optimising our quality management. We take care to reduce the environmental impact of transport.

Farmer subsidies – Through our organic Fairtrade products, we contribute to the fair payment of organic Fairtrade cotton farmers.

Living wages – We strive to promote the payment of living wages in the supply chain.

Working conditionsImplementation of the Code of Conduct – We contribute to improving working conditions in production and establish a continuous improvement process.

Multi-stakeholder relationship in the country of origin – We improve interaction with the identified stakeholder groups.

Life cycle objectives – We ensure human toxicological and environmental safety through optimised chemical and waste water management. We are also reducing our CO2 footprint in production.

Closed loop – We strive to achieve co-operations to establish take-back systems. Dibella is a founding member of CIBUTEX.

Value-based location development – We promote local suppliers outside the textile value chain. We promote traditional techniques and local biodiversity among our textile suppliers. We exclude certain countries and regions to ensure respect for human rights.

Customers – We are increasing our transparency for customers.

Sustainability awareness – We support our customers with marketing materials to raise their customers’ awareness of sustainability.

Sustainability expertise – We pass on our knowledge to our customers through training courses and joint supplier visits.

Quality awareness – We communicate openly about different product qualities. In the process, we create awareness about a worthwhile investment in sustainably produced goods.
